Greene County district court, week ending Aug. 25

In Greene County district court Atem Akuei Malual, 33, of Guymon, OK, was sentenced to two days in jail after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of operating while intoxicated- first offense. He may complete an OWI weekend offender program in lieu of the jail time. Malual must complete the recommendations of a substance abuse evaluation he has already undergone. He was fined $1,250 with a $437.50 surcharge and a $10 surcharge for drug abuse resistance education (DARE). He must also pay court appointed attorney’s fees to be determined and $100 court costs. Nicole Danielle Weese, 30, of Jefferson was sentenced to 180 days in jail after she changed her plea to guilty to a charge of attempted burglary- third degree. The jail time was suspended and she was placed on informal probation for one year. She was fined $315 with a $110.25 surcharge and a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge. She must also pay $1,200 restitution for her court appointed attorney’s fees and $100 court costs. A companion case in magistrate court in which Weese was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia was dismissed. A judgment was entered for $60 court costs in that case. (Sentencing: Kester)

McCellan S. Siruta, 33, of Jefferson pleaded not guilty Aug. 24 to charges of possession of marijuana- first offense, operating under the influence- first offense, assault on persons in certain occupation (bodily injury), interference with official acts (bodily injury), and carrying weapons while intoxicated. A trial date was set for Nov. 1.

A case was initiated Aug. 23 against Nicholas Lee Culp, 38, of Earlham on a charge of driving while license barred.
